Set on several acres of landscaped tranquility, just an hour from the heart of Lagos, Rockgarden Homes blends the serenity of the countryside with the accessibility of the city — perfect for a leisurely walk or for moments of reflection, far from the hustle and bustle of urban life. Cool breezes, quiet gardens, and compassionate care create a sanctuary where aging is embraced with grace.
Our estate features 40 en-suite rooms and 20 shared living spaces arranged in elegant two-bedroom flats. Each space is thoughtfully designed — comfortable, secure, and equipped for safety and ease. Every sunrise brings renewed hope; every evening, a peaceful retreat.
But what truly defines Rockgarden Homes is not its architecture — it’s its heart. Behind every smile, every gentle touch, every whispered word of comfort lies a story of dedication. We stand for professionalism, integrity, and empathy — values that make Rockgarden Homes the leading name in elderly care in Nigeria. Our caregivers and nurses are more than staff; they are companions on life’s journey. They understand that every resident carries a lifetime of memories, dreams, and wisdom that deserve to be honoured.
For families who live far away — children in the diaspora, professionals unable to be near — Rockgarden Homes offers something priceless: peace of mind. Here, you can trust that your loved ones are not just cared for but cherished. Their health, happiness, and dignity are at the centre of all we do.
Because Rockgarden Homes is not just a retirement home — it is a promise: that growing older should never mean growing lonely; that care can be both medical and deeply human; that home is not a place, but a feeling.
Welcome to Rockgarden Homes — where compassion becomes home, and every day is a celebration of life.
Every great vision begins with a moment of clarity — a quiet conviction that something must change. For Rockgarden Homes, that moment came in 2007, while Dr. Akinyemi Fadugbagbe was studying in the United Kingdom. He had seen firsthand how seniors in many societies were treated with dignity and professionalism, and he yearned for a Nigeria where senior citizens could experience comfort, safety, and joy in their final years — where they could enjoy a well-earned, relaxed retirement.
That longing became a calling. What began as a burden of the heart soon evolved into a mission — to create a high-quality retirement facility where aging would be celebrated, not feared; where care would be personal, not transactional; and where every resident could live with pride, feel valued, safe, and loved every single day.
In 2015, that mission took shape as Rockgarden Homes, following a rigorous accreditation and monitoring process by the government — a serene assisted-living and nursing home designed to restore dignity to elderly care in Nigeria. From the moment you step through our gates, you feel it — the quiet calm of nature, the warmth of human connection, and the deep sense that this place was built with love.
In Nigeria’s evolving landscape of elder care, where families often struggle to find safe and dignified options for their ageing loved ones, Dr. Akinyemi Fadugbagbe, fondly known as M.D, began a journey that was never just about building a care facility. It was a calling. A divine assignment. A mission to restore dignity, compassion, and excellence to the twilight years of our elders.
Rockgarden Homes was born not merely as a response to a societal gap but as a ministry of love, a garden of compassion carefully cultivated to give Nigerian seniors the quality of life, respect, and serenity they truly deserve.
When I reflect on how Rockgarden Homes began, I remember the countless families I met—tired, worried, and unsure where to turn. Across Nigeria, many loved ones face the painful reality that while we all desire our parents to age gracefully at home, life does not always allow it. Complex medical needs, demanding schedules, and children living abroad often make family caregiving difficult or even impossible.
I saw these struggles firsthand, and so Rockgarden Homes was conceived as a haven, a premium assisted living and elderly care home in Nigeria where professional care meets genuine affection and where ageing is celebrated, not endured.
At Rockgarden Homes, we offer a full continuum of senior care including retirement living, assisted living, nursing home care, palliative care, and hospice support, all under one compassionate roof. Every service is guided by international best practices and rooted in a deep understanding of Nigerian values.
We uphold a zero tolerance policy for elder neglect or abuse, ensuring that every resident receives care anchored in respect, empathy, and cultural sensitivity. Through telemedicine and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals, I also continue to provide pro bono medical guidance because this work is not a business; it is a moral duty.
In a culture where care homes are sometimes misunderstood, we understand that trust must be earned. Many families arrive at Rockgarden Homes with caution, shaped by stories of substandard care elsewhere. Yet through consistent integrity, transparency, and love, we transform skepticism into confidence. Our residents are not merely cared for; they are cherished.
Here, every day is filled with warmth and shared laughter, a true community where seniors rediscover purpose and peace.
Rockgarden carries deep symbolism. The Rock represents our foundation of faith, integrity, and resilience. The Garden signifies growth, renewal, and life. Together, they reflect our belief that even in old age, every life can still blossom beautifully.
This belief is evident not only in our philosophy but also in our physical space, a serene biological garden complete with fruit trees, lush landscapes, and friendly pets that enrich daily life. It is a place of restoration for the spirit, soul and body.
Building Rockgarden Homes in a system without strong regulation, governmental support, or existing models required courage and faith. Yet today, it stands as Nigeria’s benchmark for premium elderly care, a model proving that passion and purpose can redefine what is possible in our nation.
Rockgarden Homes is not just a care facility; it is a sanctuary of dignity, a celebration of life, and a legacy of love. For many families, choosing Rockgarden has brought peace—the peace of knowing their loved ones are spending their final years with honour, comfort, and joy. Together, we can reshape how Nigeria cares for its elders, transforming fear into trust and duty into celebration.
“I run so that I may obtain His prize, that mine might be a life of eternal significance.”
— Dr. Akinyemi Fadugbagbe, Founder, Rockgarden Homes
